Recently I was given a guided tour of the Monash Clayton Campus. So much development and upgrading with modern technology has taken place that only remnants of our days on campus (1969-71) remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The old Padua theatre\/ tutorial room within the Anatomy area remains, but is in need of refurbishment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst the anatomy museum and dissection room have been replaced by state-of-the-art facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new facilities for practical classes (chemistry, pharmacology, physiology) are most impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical classes can accommodate over 200 students per session<\/em>
(a single year in Monash Medicine now has 300 students)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere on campus, the newish LTB building (general learning and teaching for all faculties) shows what can be achieved with brilliant modern architecture. The new age lecture theatre is like something out of science fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had recently been through the Performing Arts precinct, the Monash Club (for staff and alumni), and the Chancellery building for general administration – very plush and adorned with expensive works of art (unsurprisingly) – so didn’t re-visit these this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
