AI (Artificial Intelligence) is today’s buzz word with claims of revolutionising the workforce and society itself.
Scott Farquhar, tech billionaire and co-founder of Atlassian with Mike Canon-Brookes, gives his take on AI to the National Press Club in this edited 4 minute video here.
His advice is for us to use AI every single day to get an understanding of the technology and what’s coming. We can do this by using any of the free AI programs such as Copilot (MicroSoft), Gemini (Google) or ChatGPT (OpenAI Inc) which are all free and easy to install on our phones, tablets and computers.
Whilst these AI programs seem to provide the same information, my preference is to use ChatGPT as a “guest” without logging in with username/ password – these unidentified AI chats then cannot be put on your permanent record in massive commercial data centres. Whereas Copilot and Gemini don’t allow their chats to be conducted as an unidentified anonymous guest.
But whichever AI program you choose, prepare to be amazed.
Glossary: “API” is the acronym for Application Programming Interface which lets one program talk to another.
